MINNEAPOLIS, July 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/-- Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, will give back to its local communities on Friday during the College's eighth annual Community Service Day. Approximately 1,200 employees and students from its 23 campuses and three central offices will participate in the national service day event. Through this annual effort, staff and students will volunteer more than 4,500 hours in just one 24-hour period.
"Rasmussen College has a proud tradition of giving back to its communities," said Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen, president of Rasmussen College. "On top of our annual service day event, we offer paid time off to our employees to volunteer so they can connect with local organizations and make a broader impact on our communities."
Between 2014 and 2015, Rasmussen College employees donated more than 22,000 hours of community service.
Campus and Central Office Participation During this year's Community Service Day, Rasmussen College employees and students will perform a variety of tasks, from landscaping and weeding at schools and nonprofit organizations, to hosting a car and dog wash, to leading activities and games for children.
