Programmatic accreditation highlights the College's commitment to meeting and exceeding surgical technology education standards
ROMEOVILLE, Ill., Dec. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Surgical Technologist Associate's degree program at its Romeoville/Joliet, Ill. campus has earned programmatic accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).1, 2 Accreditation signifies the Surgical Technologist program, which is also offered at the College's Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove, Moorhead and St. Cloud, Minn. campuses as well as in Rockford, Ill. has met or exceeded standards and criteria for educational quality in Surgical Technology curriculum and preparation for students to work successfully in the profession upon graduation.

About the Rasmussen College CAAHEP-Accredited Surgical Technologist Program
The Rasmussen College Surgical Technologist Associate's degree program offers a path to a career as a surgical technologist. According to labor analytics firm Burning Glass, job openings for surgical technologists have risen more than 32 percent in the past five years in Illinois alone.
Surgical technologists are an integral part of the surgical care team, helping prepare for and assist during a surgery. The Rasmussen College Surgical Technologist Associate's degree program provides hands-on learning in a fully equipped and industry-standard simulated surgical suite. Students also complete a surgical technologist practicum in a real-world healthcare environment. The program can be completed in as few as 21 months.3 Upon graduation, Surgical Technologist students are prepared for the CST National certification exam. Students can then choose to enter the workforce or continue their education by transferring their credits into the Rasmussen College Health and Wellness Bachelor's degree program.
