NEW YORK, Aug. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Rear View Safety, a Safe Fleet brand, and an industry leader in vehicle safety solutions, including backup sensor systems, driver fatigue systems, mobile DVR's, and dash cameras, is also a dedicated safety advocate and educator. The Brooklyn-based company will host a webinar addressing the dangerous trend of drowsy driving next week.
Drowsy driving is a major problem. According to the CDC, an estimated 1 in 25 adult drivers (18 years or older) report falling asleep while driving in the previous 30 days. A new study from the National Safety Council indicates that 43% of Americans admit they don't get enough sleep to mitigate safety risks at work and on the road.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that drowsy driving was responsible for 72,000 crashes, 44,000 injuries, and 800 deaths in 2013. However, these numbers are underestimated and up to 6,000 fatal crashes each year may be caused by drowsy drivers.
This problem can be stopped.
James Grossbaum, Rear View Safety's Director of Marketing, will host an in-depth discussion on the dangers of drowsy driving and how it can be prevented on Tuesday, August 8th from 2:00-2:30 PM EST. Register for the webinar here. This is Rear View Safety's fifth webinar. The fourth, "The Latest in Vehicle Safety Solutions," can be viewed here.
