Rebuilding Together Teams Up with Philips in Boston to Rehabilitate Dorchester Home

Volunteers from Andover-based Philips North America gather to support community

BOSTON, Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, August 21st, Rebuilding Together Boston, a Safe and Healthy Housing organization that believes Community Starts at Home, is joining together with Philips North America and its local employees to renovate the home of a Dorchester family in need.

Volunteers will work on a home of a former Boston public school teacher and mother, who has lived in her home for more than 30 years.  The home was severely damaged in a fire in 2010 and now continues to have electrical, plumbing, painting, and other repair related issues.  Volunteers will replace sheetrock in the kitchen, fix the front walkway, install handrails, paint stairways, place covers on electrical outlets, landscape and other projects.
