Redefine Time With Renowned Artist Andrea Zittel At RMCAD Lecture Series, October 3, 2017

DENVER, Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Discover the art of living at the upcoming Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) Collapsing Time Lecture Series. Join visiting artist Andrea Zittel as she explores limitations of living space and living without measured time. In a lecture titled "How to Live?" Zittel will discuss her works which try to comprehend broad values such as freedom, security, authorship, and expertise and illuminate how we attribute significance to structures or ways of life and how that attribution can be subjective, arbitrary, or even outright invented.

ABOUT ANDREA ZITTEL
Currently living in Joshua Tree, CA, Zittel received her BFA from San Diego State University, and MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her first post-school venture was A-Z East, a small row house in Brooklyn turned into a showroom and testing grounds for her prototypes for living. She returned to the west coast to found A-Z West—the current site of her studio practice. Zittel's work has been included in major group exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, Documenta, and the Whitney Biennial. She has had solo exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, the Whitney Museum of American Art and more.

The Collapsing Time Lecture Series challenges a singular perspective of time by presenting manifold interpretations of time's malleability while considering how flattening past, present, and future through creative models generates new experiences of time beyond physical limitations.
