Regal Entertainment Group Announces Grand Opening Celebration for Regal Avalon 12

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC), a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, is celebrating the grand opening of Avalon 12 in Alpharetta, Georgia. Activities include preview events Thursday, October 30, through Wednesday, November 5, with $2 movies, popcorn and soft drinks to benefit local charities. The official grand opening will be Thursday, November 6, with first-run feature films including Big Hero 6 and Interstellar. Moviegoers who belong to the Regal Crown Club will also enjoy free popcorn and soft drinks with each paid admission Thursday, November 6, through Wednesday, November 19.

The preview events at Avalon include recently released films with themed days where all proceeds benefit local charities. On Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31, the theme is "Flicks and Treats at Regal," benefiting the Lionheart School of Alpharetta including Halloween-themed film selections. On Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2, "Family Fun Days at Regal" features family-friendly selections benefiting City of Refuge. Monday, November 3, through Wednesday, November 5, benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank with food-oriented films for a day entitled "Regal's Recipe for Hope."

Also available at Avalon is a cutting-edge technology, the Sony Entertainment Access System, to assist moviegoers who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or low vision. The system includes specially designed lightweight eyewear for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing to privately view closed captioned text directly in their line of sight for both 2D and 3D movies. This assistive technology also includes a wireless receiver that provides access to descriptive audio tracks via a pair of headsets for guests who are blind or have low vision. The access glasses and audio headsets allow moviegoers to individually enjoy the cinema experience in a relaxed, natural way without the inconvenience of separate screening times or special seating.
