Region V SBA Administrator and the Illinois District Director Talk about the Importance of Small Business Saturday to Local Holiday Shoppers

CHICAGO, Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Regional Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Marianne Markowitz, and the SBA Illinois District Director, Robert Steiner, will be encouraging area residents to shop small on November 29^th as part of the Kick-off for Small Business Saturday and its Holiday Shopping season.  Small Business Saturday is dedicated to supporting small businesses that anchor our local communities and strengthen our local economies. 

The weekend after Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping weekend of the year. Many small businesses rely upon the holiday shopping period to ensure a successful year on their books. As advocates for small businesses throughout the state, SBA is reminding Illinoisans to not only shop small on Small Business Saturday, but to continue to shop small throughout the year at their local grocers, their main street businesses, and at their neighborhood restaurants. Markowitz and Steiner will be visiting ZAM ZAM Middle Eastern Grill to start the Small Business Saturday initiative.
