Relativity Networks Secures $6M Seed Funding to Power the Next-Generation Fiber-Optic Cable for Data Centers, Raising Total to $10.6M

Investors' backing bolsters Relativity Networks' ability to meet the insatiable demand for a data transmission technology that hyperscalers require for the AI-powered economy.

ORLANDO, Fla., July 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Relativity Networks, the leading at-scale provider of next-generation fiber-optic technology, has announced an oversubscribed $6.1M seed funding round that includes Prysmian, the global provider in energy and communications cables, GOVO Venture Partners, and a group of new and previous investors who invested in Relativity's pre-seed round. This brings the company's total amount raised to $10.7M, validating and reinforcing the company's ability to produce and deliver, at scale, the hollow-core fiber (HCF) cable increasingly in demand by operators of the energy-intensive data centers required for the AI economy.

The seed round comes on the heels of rapid growth for the company, which emerged from stealth in February with a $4.6M pre-seed funding round. In March, Relativity signed a long-term partnership agreement with Prysmian to bring its next-generation fiber-optic cable to market at scale and have already delivered HCF to hyperscalers, who are eager to adopt the technology at scale.

Hollow-core fiber has emerged as a transformative innovation critical to data center infrastructure, especially with the explosion of AI adoption. AI models need huge amounts of processing power and ultra-low latency networking and storage to handle increasingly sophisticated workloads. In HCF, light propagates in an air core, transmitting data nearly 50% faster than conventional silica glass fiber enabling data to and 1.5 times farther, reducing latency due to its higher bandwidth, and eliminating impact on network performance. 

While traditional fiber optic cables typically limit data centers to within 60 kilometers (37 miles) of power providers — or to one another — due to latency constraints, Relativity Networks' HCF technology extends this range to 90 kilometers (56 miles).
