Renowned Fitness Trainer Jillian Michaels Among Top Fitness Experts To Showcase Their Latest Programs At The 2014 IDEA World Fitness Convention™

SAN DIEGO, June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Known as "America's Toughest Trainer," famed celebrity fitness expert, author and speaker, Jillian Michaels, will lead more than 600 attendees through her latest interval training, metabolism-blasting fitness program, BODYSHRED™, at the 2014 IDEA World Fitness Convention, August 13–17, 2014, in Anaheim. Michaels will join several other industry leaders, including Diana Nyad, Tony Horton, Louis Van Amstel, Todd Durkin and Tara Stiles as presenters and trainers at the largest fitness event in the world.

Broadcast journalist, writer and record-breaking swimmer, Diana Nyad, will keynote the convention's opening ceremonies and will also receive the distinguished Jack LaLanne Award. This prestigious award is given to an individual who has made a significant and lasting contribution in the areas of fitness, nutrition and wellness by promoting the benefits of exercise and healthy eating, and who has inspired the world to fitness through his or her work in the media or public eye.       

Renowned trainer and entrepreneur, Tony Horton, best known for his popular boot camp­–style P90X® home fitness program, will also appear as a convention presenter, leading attendees through a heart-pumping workout based on mixed martial arts, the fasting growing sport in the world.

Louis Van Amstel, one of the talented dancers and choreographers on ABC's Dancing With the Stars, will showcase his latest venture, a dance-based cardio workout called, LaBlast™. This fun, partner-free program features high energy Latin dances like the cha cha, salsa and jive, and also incorporates the quickstep, the Lindy hop and disco.

Motivational speaker, author and fitness coach to professional athletes, Todd Durkin, will conduct a daylong, preconference industry leadership program. In addition, Durkin will hit the Showcase Room floor taking attendees through a fun, action-packed workout using creative and unique moves utilizing one's own body weight in Boot Camp 2014.

It's not all about high intensity and sweat. Known as the "Yoga Rebel," Tara Stiles, founder and owner of Strala Yoga, will take things down a notch. Stiles will transform the Showcase Room into a spa sanctuary where convention attendees will experience Stiles's unpretentious, inclusive and straightforward approach to yoga and meditation.
