Renowned True Religion Counsel Deborah Greaves Joins Ezra Brutzkus Gubner
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Former True Religion General Counsel Deborah Greaves will join law firm Ezra Brutzkus Gubner (EBG), effective September 1, 2014. The union is a natural one since EBG is well known for its representation of major apparel, fashion and footwear brands.
Greaves' Label Law, Inc. will continue to offer brand enforcement, product and social compliance, import/export, and merchandising/licensing consulting services to apparel, fashion and textile companies under EBG's umbrella. Ms. Greaves served as Secretary & General Counsel of NASDAQ traded True Religion Apparel, Inc., where she created and built the company's legal department, lauded for its pioneering intellectual property strategies and brand enforcement program. Prior to working at True Religion Apparel, Inc., Ms. Greaves held positions as Vice President and General Counsel of Blue Holdings, Inc. and Azteca Production International, Inc. In 2011, Ms. Greaves was named International Law Office "IP Corporate Counsel of the Year," and The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal, California's leading legal publication, named her one of "California's Top 20 In-House Counsel" in 2012. Just recently, she helped to launch Loyola Law School's Fashion Law Program, where she is an Adjunct Professor. Ms. Greaves serves on the Board of Directors of BR4SS, a men's premium essentials company and on the Board of Directors of CASA Los Angeles, a non-profit corporation providing volunteers to advocate on behalf of foster children.
"As our firm grows, specifically in the apparel and fashion world, we are carefully looking for people like Deborah, who has name recognition and a reputation for being an exceptional attorney. She also understands the growing need for effective legal and industry specific consulting services. I am thrilled she accepted our offer to join EBG," says Mark Brutzkus, founding partner at Ezra Brutzkus Gubner.
"Several firms expressed an interest in Label Law and my services, but when Mark came calling I had to jump. I worked closely with Mark and EBG during my in-house days, and I respect his legal acumen and business sense. The firm is very well known in the apparel and fashion world, and a great place for me to hitch my post," says Greaves.
For over 30 years, EBG has earned a reputation as a leading law firm in the apparel and fashion industry. The firm's attorneys assist clients with critical decisions in all aspects of daily business operations. The firm's clients include leading men's, women's and children apparel makers; outerwear, surf wear, swimwear and intimate manufacturers and retailers; piece good suppliers; showrooms; dye houses; denim washhouses; laundries; and industry personnel.
