Report: Independent Research Firm Names IBM a Leader in Big Data Streaming Analytics

ARMONK, N.Y., July 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that Forrester Research has recognized IBM as a leader in Big Data Streaming Analytics, noting that IBM scored highest on performance and scalability. Forrester also recognized IBM's significant investments in research.

In fact, Forrester survey data revealed a 66 percent increase in firms' use of streaming analytics in the past two years, noting that the market is growing far beyond its roots in industrial operations and financial services.

The report, "The Forrester Wave™: Big Data Streaming Analytics Platforms, Q3 2014," evaluates seven commercial big data streaming analytics solutions vendors to assess the state of the big data streaming analytics market. The report notes that big data streaming analytics enables organizations to "visualize business in real-time, detect urgent situations and automate immediate actions."
