Richard Coon Brings 20 Years of U-Haul Experience to U-Haul Company of Gainesville

OCALA, Fla., June 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With more than 20 years of U-Haul knowledge under his belt, Richard Coon's promotion to marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Gainesville will lead to high levels of achievement for him and his team. His leadership skills and customer focus will certainly benefit the Gainesville community.

Coon began his U-Haul career in August 1993 as a dispatch and receiving technician, and shortly thereafter was promoted to a customer service representative at U-Haul at West Colonial Drive. In April 1994, Coon served as the assistant general manager at U-Haul Moving and Storage at South Orange Avenue before being promoted to general manager (GM) at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Apopka. Coon also served as GM at U-Haul at Florida Mall. In October 1996, Coon transferred to become an area field manager for U-Haul Company of Orlando before returning to serve as GM for U-Haul Moving and Storage of Lake Square and U-Haul Moving and Storage of Goldenrod, before transferring back to the area field manager position. In May 2001, Coon held the senior manager title for U-Haul Company of Orlando and also for U-Haul Company of North Orlando before being promoted to field relief manager. In May 2004, Coon transferred to U-Haul Company of Gainesville where he served as GM for U-Haul at University of Florida, and also as area field manager, field relief manager and traffic control manager, the position he held until his recent promotion.

With his promotion to marketing company president, Coon's main goals are to expand the U-Haul dealer network and work with each team member to help them be the best they can be. He will do this through hard work and dedication to Company programs, policies and procedures.
