The ROAM Architecture Workshop 2012 took place in the ROAMWORKS office in Bonn, Germany. For a whole week, a group of business experts and core developers got together to discuss current challenges, to hear different perspectives and requirements being posed on the ROAM system, and to fine-tune the road-map for future development. The group came to conclusions regarding short-term pressing issues and have also presented powerful ideas and solutions to make the software even more competitive, always under ROAM's mantras: flexibility, scalability, traceability, robustness and versatility.
The Workshop consisted of non-technical sessions about future requirements as seen from an end-user perspective, presentation of new projects, and technical sessions in which the latest additions to the ROAM core were introduced and discussed, and future-proofing concepts were put forward.
The Workshop closed with a full-day "hack-a-thon", putting theory into practice and working together as a team to support features and improvements of ROAM, utilizing the knowledge of the experts present. The week ended with a social event on the outskirts of Cologne, topping off a ground-breaking gathering. New features and platform upgrades stemming from this event will be seen in the upcoming releases of ROAM, scheduled every 5-6 weeks for existing ROAMWORKS customers.
