Robert McCutcheon named President & CEO of Charlotte Regional Business Alliance

McCutcheon is a results-oriented chief executive with 35+ years in leadership roles across industry and enterprise. He brings proven ability to drive growth and foster innovation through strategic initiatives and keen understanding of market dynamics.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance announced Robert McCutcheon will lead the organization as its next president and CEO, effective March 17. McCutcheon will succeed Andrea Smith, who has served as interim president and CEO of the economic development organization since May of 2024. Smith will ensure a smooth transition with McCutcheon through the end of April and then remain engaged as a strategic advisor working on key priorities for the CLT Alliance and the CLT Alliance Foundation.

McCutcheon brings an impressive depth of leadership experience spanning more than 35 years in executive positions across multiple industries, from Fortune 500 corporations to mid- and small-sized enterprises.

McCutcheon previously served as president and CEO of Husqvarna North America in Charlotte, where he transformed the company's leadership position in residential and commercial outdoor power equipment and drove record profits. Formerly, McCutcheon served as president and managing director for Britax Child Safety in Fort Mill, leading the Americas division.

McCutcheon has amassed more than two decades of experience in the consumer-packaged goods sector. As president at Conagra Brands, he oversaw a portfolio worth more than $3 billion, managing well-known national brands and leading significant growth in sales and profits. His experience also includes leadership roles at Walmart, The Gillette Company, and as a founder/owner of his own business.

McCutcheon holds an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Arizona State University. He lives in Charlotte with his wife, Patricia, and is the proud father of four children.
