The captioning app for calls and in-person conversations now helps users follow everyday conversations in real time, with saved transcripts and on-device captioning that works offline.
NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Rogervoice, the AI-powered captioning app, today announced the launch of free in-person captioning. The new feature brings real-time captions and saved transcripts to face-to-face conversations, helping users keep up with the moments that matter, from work meetings and doctor's appointments to dinners with friends and family.
Not every conversation happens on the phone. There's the client lunch where someone rattles off a deadline, the pharmacy counter where you need to catch every detail, or catching up with a friend or family member. Rogervoice's new in-person captioning feature lets users read along as conversations happen, so they can stay in the moment and revisit the details afterward.
"I used to rely on two separate apps for phone calls and for meetings or in-person events. Now Rogervoice has everything in one place, which makes it so much simpler. I love that the captions are real-time, just like on my calls, and that they're saved so I can go back to them whenever I need. As someone who is hard of hearing, having real-time captions makes everything easier," said Brittany M., a Rogervoice user.
Available through the new Live tab in the Rogervoice app, in-person captioning is simple to use: open the app, start a session, and let the conversation unfold. Speech appears in real time in an adjustable, full-width caption area designed for readability. Captioning runs directly on the user's phone, works offline and is available in 45 languages on iPhone and 15 on Android. Afterward, users can revisit and export their saved transcripts.
"Earlier this year in our State of the Phone Call Survey, we found that 60% of Americans believe phone calls are not fully accessible to people who are deaf or hard of hearing. But conversations don't stop at the end of a call. People need to keep up at work, at the doctor's office and with the people they love. We built Rogervoice around that reality, and in-person captioning is another way to help people stay connected and keep moving on their own terms," said Olivier Jeannel, founder of Rogervoice, who has been deaf since age two.
The launch builds on Rogervoice's continued growth and recognition in 2026. Founded in 2014, the company has captioned more than 12 million calls in over 100 languages. Over the past few months, Rogervoice won The A.I. Awards (AI for Good) and the Hearing Technology Innovator Award (Captioning Technologies: Mobile Apps), was named as a finalist in The Anthem Awards and ranked No. 3 on TechRound's US50 list of American startups to watch.
Rogervoice brings phone-call and in-person captioning together in one app. Captioned calls are FCC-certified and free for eligible users, while in-person captioning is free. Captioning is AI-only, with no human listener on calls, no ads and no data sold. In-person captioning works offline and on-device, so conversation data never leaves the user's phone.
