ROXY Announces Winners of Let The Sea Set You Free Global Social Media Contest
Three Winners from Around the World Chosen to Live the Dream of a ROXY Girl
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ROXY's global social media contest "Let The Sea Set You Free," wrapped up a four-month international campaign for the search for the most deserving ROXY girl with the announcement of the three winners, one each from the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The global contest which allowed girls to create video and photo submissions explaining what makes them a ROXY girl ran from February 23 until June 19, 2012, and received about 5000 entries from 80+ countries.

The overarching theme in the submissions was one of happiness, excitement and adventure. A select group of ROXY representatives and professional athletes chose three exceptionally creative and inspiring girls to live the dream of a ROXY girl. Katie McLean (Santa Barbara, CA), Emilie Layla Lovaine (Wales, UK), and Madison Setiawan (Bali, Indonesia) have captivated the attention of fans around the world. The girls will be attending the ROXY Pro Biarritz, a major surf contest and beach festival occurring July 10-14. The girls will also have the opportunity to join ROXY on a second surprise trip later this year, receive up to $5,000 USD and surf with world-class ROXY athletes.
Though the winners are from different locales, they share a similar stoke and love for the water, arts and fashion. Americas winner Katie McLean describes herself as being "infused with a love for surf and street cultures and a desire to create [her] own path." Her expression spans from art to fashion to singing. Also a musician, ROXY's European winner Emilie Lovaine sees life as "one great adventure." ROXY's Asia-Pacific winner Madison Setiawan encourages girls everywhere to "dare to dream." All three girls will be able to express their inspiring vision through ROXY's creative platforms and share their creativeness with ROXY's social media fanbase.
