Ruckus Wireless Steps Up Expansion Throughout Asia Pacific to Capitalize on Explosive Demand for Smarter Wi-Fi

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruckus Wireless™, the smart mobile networking company, today announced the expansion of its Asia Pacific operations with the appointment of five industry executives to its Southeast Asian team:

• Carl Jefferys, Regional Sales Manager for Australia and New Zealand

The expansion reflects the dramatic growth of Wi-Fi within the Asian market driven by the migration to higher speed 802.11n technology and the continued demand for smarter Wi-Fi to meet new enterprise and carrier requirements for longer range, highly reliable and multimedia-ready wireless.

Since 2006, Ruckus Wireless has seen a 40-fold growth in revenue and 30-fold growth in unit shipments within the Asia Pacific region. Between 2006 and 2009, Ruckus realized a 242 percent compound annual growth in revenue within the APAC region.

New Appointments

Ruckus Wireless has appointed Michael Lok as the Regional Sales Manager. Based in Singapore, Michael manages all business and channel activities in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Pakistan, Myanmar and Laos. Michael has more than 13 years of sales and marketing experience in Asia Pacific gained from working with companies such as F5 Networks, Citrix Systems and most recently Expand Networks.

Assigned to spearhead businesses in the Philippines, Indonesia, Guam and Pacific Islands markets, Bill Pascuzzi has over 20 years of experience in the IT and telecommunication industries.  This includes his assignments in Europe with Digital Equipment Corporation. In Southeast Asia, Bill spent more than 12 years working for several blue-chip companies including Vertel and Lucent Technologies.

Joshua Mony has joined Ruckus Wireless as Regional Sales Director, focusing on developing Ruckus' business in the red-hot Wireless Broadband Access (WBA) market emerging throughout Southeast Asia. An IT veteran specializing in strategic sales and business development, Joshua's experience  includes sales management positions with leading companies such as Trango Systems, Motorola, IBM, Alcatel, Access360, Exalt Communication and SkyPilot.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Carl Jefferys, a seasoned industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience within the computer networking industry, has joined Ruckus Wireless as the Regional Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand.  Prior to Ruckus, Carl held senior management roles in NEC and Macquarie Telecom. He has also held engineering and sales positions with AWA, Datacraft and Lucent.

Based in Hong Kong, Chris Yip joined Ruckus Wireless as the Director of Marketing to lead all marketing activities and ecosystem partnership development in the Asia Pacific region. Before joining Ruckus, Chris was with Trapeze Networks leading their marketing operations in the region for more than two years. Prior to Trapeze Networks, Chris has held other regional marketing and sales management positions in top organizations like Blue Coat Systems, Proxim Wireless and Lucent Technologies prior to its merger with Alcatel in 2008.
