This is a sharp increase compared to 2014, where just over a third of all users had integrated with another app, and close to 10% had used APIs. In addition to this, the number of companies enabling integrations with multiple apps almost doubled, with the most popular being IT helpdesk software Zendesk and Single Sign-On Authentication services. The findings also reveal the differences in integration usage across industries. While universities are more heavily reliant on identity management platforms, asset-intensive businesses tend to integrate with organizational apps.
These findings provide valuable insight into the business landscape of today, especially as it relates to SaaS products. It shows how reliant businesses are on cloud-based enterprise solutions, and the dire need to create linkages between different applications to improve the managerial ecosystem within corporations.
