Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Collection Launches Father's Day Honors Contest

NEW YORK, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the retailer announces the launch of its Father's Day Honors contest sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Collection.  Twenty-two Saks stores across the country are searching for role model dads who are making a positive impact through their style, generosity and dedication to their families and communities. Anyone may nominate a father they know to be one of the honorees in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Father's Day this June.

The dads chosen to receive The Father's Day Honors will represent both ideal fathers and the retailer's Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Collection.  In addition to receiving a complete look from the line and recognition in local store windows, honorees will be celebrated at a June ceremony and shopping event at their local Saks store.  10% of Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Collection sales that evening and throughout the weekend will benefit a number of local charities that focus on children and families.

The program marks several milestones for the company.  In addition to being the largest men's focused charitable initiative in years, the campaign is the first to rely heavily on internet marketing and media.  The company has created a special micro-site to house the program, www.saks.com/fathersday.  On top of collecting nominations, the site features editorialized information about the Saks Men's Collection, a weekly style tip from the Vice President and Fashion Director of Menswear, Eric Jennings, as well as Facebook applications. Awareness for the program is being raised primarily online and via social media channels including local and national e-mail blasts, a viral Facebook application and a dedicated tab on Saks Fifth Avenue's Facebook page.

Those who wish to nominate someone they know will be asked the question, "Why does the father I am nominating deserve to receive the Father's Day Honors?" and are encouraged to share stories and anecdotes about their nominee.  Nominations will be accepted through March 21, 2010.
