Samson Sky Secures $80 Million Investment for Production of the Switchblade Flying Car
PRINEVILLE, Ore., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Samson Sky, makers of the Switchblade Flying Car announced they have secured an investment of $80 million from Dubai-based Matin Group. According to Sam Bousfield, CEO and Founder of Samson Sky and designer of the Switchblade, these funds will be used to establish Samson Sky's first 180,000 square foot Switchblade production facility, to be located in the U.S.
Samson Sky announced they have signed a Joint Investment Agreement with the Matin Group, and the two companies have begun setting up the Joint Venture to accelerate into commercial production, with $20M still remaining to be raised for full production funding.
The transaction reflects Matin Group's strategy of selectively partnering with innovative, execution-ready businesses that combine strong commercial potential with long-term value creation. Former aerobatic pilot and Samson Sky Ambassador Anna V. Grebenshchikova was instrumental in bringing the two organizations together.
"At the start, Mr. Matin saw the Switchblade's relevance, and its ability to make a difference in the world, and our two companies quickly advanced to a position of trust," said Bousfield. "We are proud to have such a forward-thinking partner as we roll the Switchblade out to the world."
"The future is not built by those who wait for certainty—it is built by those who recognize possibility before it becomes obvious. At Matin Group, we partner with people who have the courage to challenge convention and the discipline to deliver. Samson Sky is one of those rare companies, and we are proud to support their journey as they redefine the future of mobility, because we believe the most meaningful investments are those that create lasting value—not only for shareholders, but for society as a whole," stated Mustafa Matin, CEO of Matin Group.

PLEASE NOTE:
The Switchblade is an Experimental category aircraft. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) does not provide Certification for this category of aircraft - they certify aircraft that are fully produced in a factory by the manufacturer.
With all Experimental aircraft, the FAA designates that the owner must build 51% of the vehicle. All Switchblade owners will spend one week at the Samson Builder Assist Center, building 51% of their Switchblade. Following this, Samson will complete their vehicle.
