Santa Makes Cyber-Stop to Three Shriners Hospitals for Children Locations for the Holidays

NEW YORK, Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dimension Data, the global ICT services and solutions provider, is teaming up with Shriners Hospitals for Children to bring Santa Claus to patients through virtual video technology.

On December 8 and 9, patients from Shriners Hospitals for Children will be able to video chat with Santa to let him know which toys top their wish lists this year. Santa will broadcast from the North Pole to three Shriners Hospitals for Children locations in Philadelphia, PA, Salt Lake City, UT, and Galveston, TX leveraging Cisco telepresence technology.

"This event not only brings joy to kids in the hospital during the holidays, but highlights the importance of collaboration technologies, like telepresence, that have the ability to bring people together," said Denise Messineo, SVP of People & Culture. Each child will receive a special holiday blanket from Santa and enjoy the company of Santa's helpers from Dimension Data and Shriners Hospitals for Children, who will be in full elf dress for this special event.
