Santa Visits North Texas at Mrs Baird's Fort Worth Bakery

FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Santa Claus announced today that he will make his annual visit to Mrs Baird's in Fort Worth to hear the holiday wishes of thousands of North Texas children.  Parents are thrilled that the event, including professional color photos with Santa, and Mrs Baird's sweet treats are free of charge. 

Santa's visits to Mrs Baird's bakery date back to 1939. In the last five years, close to 29,000 excited visitors stopped by the bakery to sit in Mr. Claus' lap and share their Christmas wishes.  Parents have been happy to avoid the rush and cost of visiting Santa at area malls.  The events are free and include photographs with Santa, along with Mrs Baird's favorite powdered sugar donuts. Because of its popularity, the event has more than doubled in size, accommodating the thousands of guests visiting Old St. Nick each weekend.

"I love visiting with all my North Texas friends and families at Mrs Baird's," said Santa. "I enjoy seeing those who come year after year and I especially love being part of a new tradition with young couples bringing their newborns! The thousands of hugs, and almost-that-many donuts, fill my heart and my belly!"

Additionally, Santa and Mrs Baird's are collecting gifts for Toys for Tots. Guests are invited, but not required, to bring a new toy to donate.

Santa will park his sleigh at the Mrs Baird's Bakery at 7301 South Freeway in Fort Worth at the following times:

Guests can visit with Santa in a colorful Candy land setting, have their picture taken with Old St. Nick and sample Santa's favorite Mrs Baird's sweet treats.  The events are free and open to the public.
