ScaleArc Enables New Levels of Availability and Performance for Oracle Database Environments

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ORACLE OPENWORLD — ScaleArc today announced new enhancements to its ScaleArc for Oracle software that increase the availability and performance of applications and websites in an Oracle database environment. Built on ScaleArc's patented Ternion^TM technology, the database traffic management software delivers continuous application availability and up to a 24x increase in application performance, without requiring any changes to applications or databases. Some of the new groundbreaking features in ScaleArc for Oracle 3.2 include:

• Automatic failover – provides continuous application availability during both planned and unplanned outages, avoiding application restarts
• Enhanced caching – the world's first transparent ACID-compliant caching mechanism, which increases app performance by enabling organizations to reliably cache data (such as shopping cart information for eCommerce) that previously couldn't be cached safely
• Read/write split – boosts performance for read-heavy applications without requiring any application code modifications
• Advanced analytics – to identify and solve problems in real time, with the benefit of a cluster-wide view of database statistics

Consistent with ScaleArc's architecture for transparent deployment, these new capabilities require no modifications to applications or the database. The new features augment the existing database load balancing and traffic management capabilities in ScaleArc for Oracle that are proven to increase the availability and performance of mission-critical applications and websites.
