Scott & White to Open Emergency Hospital in Cedar Park

ROUND ROCK, Texas, Feb. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott & White Healthcare announced today it will open an emergency hospital at 900 E. Whitestone Boulevard in Cedar Park on February 27. Scott & White Emergency Hospital at Cedar Park will be the first community-based hospital in Central Texas advancing this new model for emergency medical and inpatient care. 

Unlike urgent care centers, which are designed to handle non-life-threatening medical complaints, or free-standing emergency departments, Scott & White Emergency Hospital at Cedar Park will be a licensed hospital, adhering to the highest standards of licensing, clinical quality, and operations. This facility is designed to provide a highly efficient, patient-centered experience. The new emergency hospital will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and staffed with emergency medicine physician specialists, as well as experienced nursing and clinical staff. The facility will have an emergency department with seven beds, diagnostic imaging including X-ray, a CT scanner and ultrasound, a laboratory, and an eight-bed inpatient unit for those requiring an admission for additional medical services.
