Chase began his U-Haul career in January 1998 as a customer service representative (CSR) at U-Haul at Central Avenue (790-054). In June 2000, he was promoted to general manager (GM) of 790-054, and shortly thereafter transferred to GM of U-Haul Moving and Storage of Portsmouth (790-059). Chase served as GM for more than three years before becoming an area field manager (AFM) for U-Haul Company of New Hampshire and Maine (790). Several months later, Chase was promoted to GM of U-Haul Moving and Storage at South Willow (790-062). Next, Chase served as a hitch professional at 790-059 and U-Haul Moving and Storage of Rochester (790-058) before becoming GM of 790-058, where he served for a year before returning as AFM for Co. 790 in April 2007. Several years later he was promoted to senior AFM/district certifier for 790, the position he held until his recent promotion. Today, Chase will oversee all operations of UHC of Eastern Massachusetts, including truck, trailer and storage rentals. His U-Haul experience and his proven leadership skills certainly will drive Team 798 to success.
"Over the past thirteen years, Scott has shown himself to be a great asset to this Company," affirmed ADVP Hynes. "I'm very proud of what Scott has accomplished and look forward to working with him in the future."
In assuming his new role as president, Chase is looking forward to upcoming opportunities to work hands on with his team members in order to increase service through the implementation of policies and programs set forth by U-Haul International. He plans on using all available tools and labor-saving techniques to increase customer service, ultimately leading to increased transactions and profits throughout UHC of Eastern Massachusetts. With the addition of Co. 798, Chase believes that District 9 will be better equipped to serve customers in the community by adding convenient locations and more accessible equipment. Chase also plans on striving to always provide the level of service that U-Haul customers expect and deserve.
"As president of the newly created UHC of Eastern Massachusetts (Co.798), I plan to focus on service -- increasing programs to better serve our customers," Chase stated. "I am lucky to inherit a group of customer-service oriented individuals who share my desire to increase the U-Haul market share."
