DENVER, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Skomal has been named as Executive Chef at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. Skomal comes to the hotel from the Sheraton Overland Park, Kansas where he served as Executive Chef since the hotel opening in 2002. Skomal, who has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for over 20-years, previously served as Executive Chef at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel and as Sous Chef at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.
Skomal, a San Diego native, received his culinary training there. He has served on the culinary committee for Starwood, has been awarded as "Chef of the Year" by the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association and is a graduate of the Sheraton Sous Chef training program.
