ScrubaDub Celebrates 50-Year Milestone

In 1966, Marshall and Elaine Paisner opened the first ScrubaDub Auto Wash at the corner of Bridge and Pleasant Streets in Watertown, MA. This October, the Paisner family will celebrate 50 years of family business with three generations working in the company. ScrubaDub is New England's leading car wash company with 18 award-winning locations across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. More sites are planned in the year ahead.

"Growing up in Dorchester, MA, I always dreamed of starting my own family business. Understanding the challenges and rewards of working with family, Marshall, passed the torch to his two sons, Danny and Bob, in 1994 and co-founded the Center for Family Business at his alma mater, Northeastern University. He spent several years lecturing on family business while interviewing entrepreneurs and family enterprises for his book "Sustaining the Family Business," published in 1999, which revealed five cultural patterns that family companies surviving 3 generations have in common. Today his son, Danny, is the President of ScrubaDub, his son, Bob, the CEO and his grandson, Mathew, Director of Business Development.
