Sears Holdings Takes Part in Rebuilding Together's National Rebuilding Day -- Supporting Affiliates, Changing Lives

WASHINGTON, April 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rebuilding Together and its longtime partner, Sears Holdings, announce Sears Holdings' latest contribution in their partnership to preserve affordable homeownership nationwide. Sears Holdings will be a major supporter of Rebuilding Together's annual event, National Rebuilding Day, by offering incredible savings opportunities on appliances to affiliates who are rebuilding their communities.

Rebuilding Together, the nation's leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership, has over 200 affiliates nationwide, many of whom take an active role serving low-income homeowners in their neighborhoods. The affiliates participate in National Rebuilding Day, taking place this year on Saturday, April 24, in their local communities. The united front Rebuilding Together has established on this single day draws national attention to the plight of low-income homeowners, and the need that Rebuilding Together fills in communities by serving those who need assistance.

This year, Sears Holdings has provided Rebuilding Together affiliates with extensive discounts on energy-saving appliances to replace outdated and inefficient ones that many low-income homeowners do not have the means to replace. Sears Holdings is taking an active role in National Rebuilding Day by providing affiliates more ways to serve low-income homeowners. Energy-efficient appliances are a significant contribution to the rebuilding process and an ideal way to update a home, create a safer environment, and cut down on utility costs.

In addition to providing affiliates with saving incentives, Sears Holdings is funding 140 projects in 68 cities across the country on National Rebuilding Day as part of its Heroes at Home program, which addresses the needs of America's military families and veterans.
