NEW YORK, March 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Valuation and Risk Strategies, an independent and analytically separate business unit within Standard & Poor's that provides users with market intelligence and analytic insight for risk-driven investment analysis, announced today that ISIDPlus, a cross-reference securities identifier service favored by asset managers, banks, custody and clearing agents and compliance departments, has expanded its data universe to include more than two million issues globally. ISIDPlus' data expansion enables financial institutions to increase their coverage of financial instruments and corresponding information, providing complete and transparent insight into financial data for more informed decision-making.
ISIDPlus (International Securities Identification Directory) is a comprehensive database of global security identifiers that resolves security identification issues, helps automate front- and back-office operations and speeds global trading and settlement. The service is provided through a strategic alliance between Standard & Poor's and SIX Telekurs.
"This new milestone for ISIDPlus is a reflection of the explosion in growth and increasing complexity of the financial markets," said Rui Carvalho, Managing Director, S&P Global Data Solutions. "By having more than two million issues in ISIDPlus, our customers can increase their coverage of financial instruments along with any corresponding data and make their investment decisions with more confidence."
ISIDPlus links two million global financial instruments with more than seven million National Securities Identification Numbers (NSINs) associated with those instruments. Flexible delivery options are available, including Web-based access; Microsoft® Excel® plug-in to query the databases and refresh information for use at your desktop; and data feeds.
