NEW YORK, May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Issa PR has been appointed by SELECT - one of the most prestigious art fairs in the world to launch their New York exhibits. Issa was tapped in early April to handle all press, communications, and event support for the fair. This year, SELECT Art Fair has a dynamic programming schedule that includes an exciting roster of musical talent, performances, installations, book signings, and lectures. From May 13 - 17, SELECT returns during Frieze Week to present its diverse platform at the historic Center 548, formerly the DIA Centre.
This year, SELECT will feature for the very first time a selection of critically acclaimed musical acts including Lee Ranaldo from Sonic Youth and collaborator Leah Singer, Mivos String Quartet, Hiro Kone, Sick Feeling and Narc. Each act will perform adjacent to immersive rooftop installations by Andriy Bazyuta - presented by Whitebox Art Center - and TROUBLE, artist duo Sam Hillmer and Laura Paris. SELECT's advisory panel will help present adjunct programming which includes lectures, book signings and performance art throughout the fair. The advisory panel is made up of reputable arts organizations, such as Franklin Furnace, Rhombus Space, BRIC, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, OR Gallery, Whitebox Art Center, and Transmitter.
Highlights this year include: an 86 hour performance installation by Millie Brown for the Marina Abramovic Institute, Mandy Mandelstein's "If the walls had eyes" video installation that is motion activated and James Chance, King of No Wave & Noise will perform on the rooftop on Saturday, May 16th. Anna Paola Pizzocaro's "Walking Distances in Wonder" book signing will take place during the weekend at Gallery Bruno Massa. Finally, Studio 5404 - a gallery/art space and not for profit, dedicated to supporting under-represented and emerging artists by Lori Horowitz will also feature.

Center 548 is divided into three floors and a roof deck with stunning 360-degree views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. Each floor is 9,000 square feet of virtually column-free space and 14-foot high ceilings and popular LES Art Bar that will resurrect itself on the rooftop and will feature an array of specialty cocktails, beers and wines.
