ShareFest 8th Annual Workday Kick-Off Brunch Saturday, February 12th, 10AM
TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ShareFest Community Development is hosting its 8th Annual Workday Kick-Off Brunch Saturday, February 12th, at 10AM at the Healthy Bean, 23211 Hawthorne Blvd., in Torrance. Anyone interested in participating in this year's Workday is invited to attend. Those wishing to attend should RSVP by email to [email protected] or call 310-714-9703.
The Kick-Off event is an opportunity to celebrate the work done on past Workdays as well as introduce new organizations and project leaders to all the resources available. Last year, more than 5,000 volunteers completed more than 300 projects as part of the Workday. The 2011 ShareFest Community Workday is scheduled for May 14th.
"The Workday Kick-Off is a great way for existing partners to bring new leaders onboard, and introduce new organizations to the Workday. It also serves to remind us all just how many different organizations participate. Participants can meet other leaders and organizations, share ideas and learn what is new for 2011," said Chad Mayer, ShareFest Managing Director.
In 2011, there are some very exciting new developments for the Workday. At the ShareFest Annual Evening of Community, Toyota Motor Corporation announced the donation of a Prius for ShareFest to raffle off this year. This program will provide participating Workday partners a valuable tool to help finance their projects or raise additional funds for their organization.
The Kick-Off Brunch also serves to introduce ShareFest partners to our ongoing project management support, and training. ShareFest has developed an extensive program to assist Churches in finding or submitting projects, planning, and recruiting volunteers.
ShareFest's vision is to unite the South Bay and meet the deepest needs within the communities of south western Los Angeles County. Cities within this area include El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hawthorne, Lawndale, Gardena, Carson, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Harbor City, Lomita and the communities of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
