Shell And Jewel-Osco® Help Chicagoland Consumers Save With Launch Of My Jewel-Osco™ Fuel Rewards® Program

CHICAGO, June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Shell, the No. 1 selling gasoline brand in the U.S., and Jewel-Osco®, Chicagoland's No. 1 grocery store, are teaming up to help local shoppers get increased value on their everyday grocery purchases by launching the My Jewel-Osco™ Fuel Rewards® program in participating area Jewel-Osco® stores. Local consumers who use their My Jewel-Osco Rewards™ Card when shopping at participating Jewel-Osco stores starting June 25 will now be able to earn Fuel Rewards® savings, which may be redeemed at local participating Shell stations for fuel savings at the pump.

Shell and Jewel-Osco make it easy for consumers to save with the My Jewel-Osco™ Fuel Rewards® program. Consumers just need to carry their My Jewel-Osco Rewards™ Card and scan it when they check out at the store to earn Fuel Rewards savings. For every $50 spent in qualified purchases at participating Jewel-Osco stores, consumers can earn a savings of 5 cents per gallon on fuel that is redeemable on a single fill-up, up to 20 gallons at any one of more than 350 local participating Shell stations.

In addition, Fuel Rewards savings earned through the My Jewel-Osco™ Fuel Rewards® program accumulate so the more consumers spend at participating Jewel-Osco stores, the more Fuel Rewards savings they earn. For example, if consumers spend $100, they will earn a savings of 10 cents per gallon, if consumers spend $250, they will earn a savings of 25 cents per gallon, etc. Consumers also don't have to spend $50 in one transaction. Qualifying purchases are automatically tracked and each time the $50 threshold is met, another 5 cents per gallon reward on fuel is earned. Fuel Rewards savings will expire the last day of the month following the month they were earned.
