In his role, Martin will lead Shepherd Wealth's Defined Contribution department, created to support business owners and their employees with their corporate-sponsored retirement plans. The department builds on Shepherd Wealth's existing defined contribution practice and brings dedicated expertise to an important part of the firm's work with business owners, connecting retirement planning with the tax and legacy considerations that come with owning a business.

With more than 30 years in financial services, he has held roles with John Hancock, Mutual of America, The Standard, and Empower (formerly Great-West). He marshaled advisors serving the business-owner market to help scale their 401(k) and retirement plan businesses and contribute to revenue growth. This background provides an extensive understanding of business challenges, which he now delivers to both advisors and business owners.
