Sherry Wines Brings the Wines of Jerez to New Orleans for the First Time This October

NEW YORK, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sherry Wines will make its first-ever visit to New Orleans this October, bringing the wines, traditions, and unique identity of the Jerez region to one of the United States' most vibrant culinary and cultural destinations. The program will feature an exclusive masterclass and walk-around tasting for wine trade and media on October 1, led by César Saldaña, President of the Consejo Regulador of the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry and Manzanilla, alongside additional trade-focused activities in New Orleans on October 1 and 2.

The New Orleans program will begin on Thursday, October 1, with A Journey Through Sherry: Masterclass & Walkaround Tasting at The Royal Sonesta New Orleans. The event will bring together approximately 15-20 historic houses and wineries from Jerez, offering trade and media professionals the opportunity to discover the remarkable diversity, versatility, and complexity of Sherry wines while meeting representatives from the region.

From crisp and delicate Finos and Manzanillas to complex Amontillados, Olorosos, Palo Cortados, and Pedro Ximénez, the tasting will showcase the wide range of styles that define the wines of Jerez.

At 1:00 PM, César Saldaña will lead an exclusive masterclass introducing attendees to the wines of Jerez, from their history and traditions to the winemaking practices that shape their distinctive character. The session will also explore how the Marco de Jerez continues to evolve, highlighting recent developments in the region, including changes to its regulations and the new "Vinos de Albariza" designation.

The New Orleans program will continue on October 1 and 2 with additional trade-focused activities, including staff trainings at venues such as Mildred's at The Warbler Hotel and Costera, as well as in-store tastings at local wine shops such as Faubourg Wines, providing opportunities for local wine professionals and consumers to further explore the diversity of Sherry and connect with the wines and traditions of Jerez.

Following its New Orleans debut, Sherry Wines will continue its U.S. program in New York City, participating in Feria En Rama on October 4 and 5 at High Line Nine in Chelsea. The two-day celebration of the Marco de Jerez will bring together wineries, restaurants, wine professionals, and Sherry enthusiasts for an immersive exploration of Andalusian wine and culture. The program will feature a walk-around tasting representing more than 30 Sherry wineries, alongside Spanish cuisine, cocktails, flamenco, seminars, and other experiences celebrating the heritage and contemporary spirit of the region.
