SHOPLINE and Plug and Play Showcase 14 Rising Consumer Brands at Los Angeles Pitch Day
On the Rise: Consumer Brand Showcase closed the latest Future of Commerce Accelerator cohort with live pitches, demo tables, and a panel with Vibrant Consumer's Jarret Christie on what gets a young brand onto the shelf
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SHOPLINE, the commerce platform behind more than 700,000 merchants worldwide, and Plug and Play hosted On the Rise: Consumer Brand Showcase on Thursday, October 1, the Pitch Day for the SHOPLINE × Plug and Play Future of Commerce Accelerator. Fourteen early-stage consumer brands pitched live to a room of founders, investors, and corporate leaders, with Silicon Valley Bank as event sponsor.
Built as a working session rather than a conference, the evening moved from opening remarks from Plug and Play, SHOPLINE, and Silicon Valley Bank into a panel, then fast-paced pitches, then a reception built around demo tables where guests could taste, try, and talk to the founders directly.
The panel, "Retail Ready: What Makes a Consumer Brand Break Through," featured Jarret Christie, Managing Partner and Investor at Vibrant Consumer. He took the question from the investor's side: which proof points signal that a brand is ready for retail, which metrics matter at each stage, and which mistakes stall brands that otherwise should have made it.
"These founders had a few minutes each to win over a room of buyers and investors, and the best pitches were built on real customers," said Christopher Yang, Co-President of SHOPLINE. "That is exactly the brand we built SHOPLINE for: early, already selling, and ready to scale the day the right retailer says yes. Plug and Play puts those founders in the room, and we give them the platform to grow once they walk out of it."
Food and beverage, beauty, wellness, lifestyle, and pet were all in the cohort: Sunny Side Up, Nalwaya Foods, Urania London, Ojai Essentials, No Consequence, Brandage, MoboKey, Sooz, Olas Coffee, Adonis Arcana, Korjin, Vedari, Pablo's Fire, and StayLyte. Several arrived with traction in hand. By the brands' own accounts, Sunny Side Up has sold more than 100,000 units of its pet care products, MoboKey's keyless-entry device has more than 10,000 paying customers, and StayLyte's hydration drink ranks No. 15 on RangeMe's Top 50 Food & Beverage Brands with repeat sell-through across more than a dozen Dallas–Fort Worth retail locations.
"I came in thinking I had to figure everything out alone, but walked away with mentors, and a platform partner who genuinely wanted to see Korjin win," said Justin Chung, founder of Korjin, which launches its fermented black ginseng liquid extract sticks this November. "I made the call to switch over to the SHOPLINE platform, and they put a real team behind me."
"We have sold MoboKey from a self-hosted WordPress store for years, and too much of our energy went into keeping that store running rather than growing it," said Muhammad Ali Rashid, CEO of RoboArt, Inc., the maker of MoboKey. "What excites me about SHOPLINE is having commerce, content and social selling in one place—and after meeting the SHOPLINE team in Los Angeles through the Future of Commerce Accelerator, I am just as encouraged by the people as by the platform."
