"'Le Sirenuse at Shutters' is a true celebration of the best coastal offerings from two of the world's most renowned luxury hotels," said Le Sirenuse co-owner Antonio Sersale. "Shutters is one of our favorite California hotels to visit, and we are thrilled to bring the simple pleasures of Positano to Santa Monica for a week-long event that honors the best of each coast."
"Antonio and Carla's esteemed hotel epitomizes Mediterranean luxury, and we are delighted to share their exquisite vision with our discerning visitors and local travel enthusiasts," said Klaus Mennekes, Vice President & Managing Director of ETC Hotels Group, which includes Shutters.
"The team at Shutters is excited to welcome Antonio, Carla and Matteo to Santa Monica and to create what we hope is the first of many collaborative guest experiences," said Shutters General Manager Gregory Day.
From February 19 through 26, 2014, guests at Shutters' five-time Wine Spectator Award of Excellence restaurant, One Pico, will be able to enjoy the incomparable cuisine of Le Sirenuse prepared by guest chef Matteo Temperini in collaboration with Shutters' Sven Mede. Chef Temperini will indulge guests with the wonders of Le Sirenuse's Michelin-rated Mediterranean cuisine while Chef Mede – a protege of Michael Mina and the late Charlie Trotter—will pay homage to the guest chef with his own Italian-inspired dishes driven by California ingredients.
Among the signature Michelin-worthy dishes that Chef Temperini will highlight for One Pico guests include Gamberoni rossi Siciliani (roasted Imperial Prawns with scampi bruschetta, lemon confit and local squid); Lombata di Vitello (roasted veal cutlet with capers, baby onions and anchovies juice); and Tortelli con Genovese di Manzo Agerolino alle Spezie (tortellini topped with black truffles and parmesan fondue). Chef Mede's dishes will include Roasted Cauliflower Soup with a black truffle brioche; Grilled Georges Bank Swordfish with crispy polenta, cipollini onions, black olives, and blood oranges; and Kurobuta Pork Chop with farro, Hen of the Woods mushrooms, sage and hazelnut brown butter.
Additionally, a menu of Amalfi-inspired spirits and wines from the region will be selected by Shutters' Master Sommelier Peter Neptune and Beverage Director Tricia Carr to complement the exclusive dinner offerings.
Carla Sersale, co-owner of Le Sirenuse and creator of its stylish boutique and online shop, Emporio Le Sirenuse, will bring her chic sensibility to The Cottage at Shutters with an exclusive pop-up collection. Available to guests beginning February 19, the one-of-a-kind offerings will include fragrances and scented soaps from Le Sirenuse's Eau D'Italie bath line, Carlo Moretti Bora glasses and bowls, Positano canvas beauty cases, scarves, totes, swimming trunks and logo wear.
