Silldorf & Levine's Scott Levine to Begin Term as 2010 President of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Levine will be sworn in as the 2010 President of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (CASD) on February 6th at the Organization's annual Awards and Installation Dinner.  

Levine is a partner in the law firm of Silldorf & Levine, LLP.  He represents homeowners in construction defect actions and also practices business litigation, employment, and franchise law.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law.  In 2002, Mr. Levine co-negotiated California's new Construction Defect Law (SB 800).  Mr. Levine has been the Tort Law column editor and the Legislative Law column editor for CASD's "Trial Bar News".  He was awarded the 2002 Legislative Champion Award by Consumer Attorneys of Orange County and the 2003 David S. Casey, Jr. Consumer Advocate Award by CASD.

Levine has spent the last year preparing for his term as President.  He has held individual meetings with the 2010 CASD board members to learn about their ideas for the coming year. Levine's plan is to empower board members to be in charge of committees for which they have a passion. In March, he organized a unique educational seminar, "The Business of Being a S.M.A.R.T. and Successful Lawyer."  He says, "We often hear that attorneys are unhappy with their work.  My goal is to provide education programs that teach lawyers more about the business aspect of being a lawyer.  If lawyers have more business sense, they may enjoy the practice more.  In addition, if a lawyer's business is running well, its owners and associates may have more time for outside interests that help round out their lives."
