Silver Lane Taps Industry Veteran to Launch a Mid-Cap Insurance Investment Banking Practice
NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Silver Lane Advisors LLC, a premier investment bank that specializes in the financial services industry, announced that Peter van der Meer has joined as Managing Director and Head of Insurance Investment Banking. He most recently was Senior Managing Director and Head of Insurance Banking at Guggenheim Securities.

Over a 30-plus year career, Mr. van der Meer has advised on more than 165 insurance deals -- including the formation of various offshore insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as M&A transactions and capital raises for insurance companies both domestically and abroad. Prior to Guggenheim, Mr. van der Meer founded and was Head of Insurance Investment Banking at FBR, and was Managing Director and Head of Non-Bank Financial Institutions at ABN AMRO North America. He spent the first 17 years of his investment banking career with J.P. Morgan's financial institutions group in New York, London, Madrid and Amsterdam.
