Skin Cancer Specialists Take On Melanoma Awareness Month
Skin Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery Center Speaks on Skin Cancer Awareness at May's Relay For Life - Newport Beach.
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- An estimated 76,380 new cases of invasive melanoma will be diagnosed in the U.S. in 20161-A huge reason for Southern California to get involved in Melanoma Awareness Month this May.

To promote Melanoma Awareness, Orange County's leading skin cancer specialist, Dr. Simon Madorsky, Medical Director at Skin Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery Center (SCARS Center), will speak at The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life Event on the Balboa Peninsula, May 21st, 2016.
"Southern Californians are naturally more frequently exposed to sunlight which can put them at higher risk for developing skin cancers. Your common methods of prevention are the application of sunblock and regular skin checks; however, there are several additional methods of prevention available through our center, such as chemical peels, light therapy, and topical chemotherapy. Relay For Life is the number one national fundraising event for cancer patients and their families. Money raised funds cancer research and helps The American Cancer Society provide a complete network of resources, ranging from 24 hour hotlines to rideshare opportunities and lodging assistance for patients seeking treatment away from home.
