Skybox Security Launches New Release of Network Assurance

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- Skybox Security, the leader in proactive security risk management, today announced exciting new cyber security capabilities in the upcoming release of Network Assurance 5.5.   This release delivers superior visibility and analysis of enterprise network infrastructure to support cyber security needs -- including modeling of cloud connections, visualization of risky access paths, and platform configuration checks for routers and switches.

Network Assurance 5.5 gives security personnel a powerful tool to prevent network intrusions and sophisticated cyber attacks, such as advanced persistent threats (APT), that use security gaps and access paths through the network to access critical systems and data.   In Network Assurance, network connections and device configuration data from firewalls, routers, and switches is automatically collected and correlated, then displayed as a visual model of the network and potential exposures.   

The addition of cloud modeling allows security teams to use Network Assurance to include network paths connecting through cloud-based services in security policy checks.  Identification of potential threats emanating from or directed to endpoints in the cloud is a new capability provided in Skybox Risk Control.

Network Assurance 5.5 adds numerous map-based controls, including a new visual overlay of Access Analyzer, Skybox's patent-pending analytics for network access paths.  The intuitive visual interface allows users to quickly find all reachable IPs from any device, examine risky access paths, or troubleshoot connectivity issues.   

New configuration checks added in Network Assurance 5.5 verify that device platform OS and settings match vendor-recommended best-practices or defined policies, avoiding potential configuration errors that could leave the network exposed to threats.  Network Assurance 5.5 supports devices from Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, Fortinet, McAfee, Palo Alto Networks, and other vendors.
