Smile Source, LLC Launches DentalVibe® in all Practices, Bringing "Pain Free" Injections to Patients Nationwide
Smile Source LLC, one of the country's leading group dental practices, implements the DentalVibe® Injection Comfort System in all practices nationwide
BOCA RATON, Fla., May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BING Innovations, exclusive provider of the DentalVibe® Injection Comfort System, the revolutionary device that is redefining the dental experience, is pleased to announce their partnership with Smile Source, LLC, to implement the use of the DentalVibe® Injection Comfort system in all of its participating dental offices throughout the U.S.
Smile Source, LLC, one of the country's leading group dental practices, understands that the fear of pain is universal, leading millions of people to avoid the dentist because of this fear. The DentalVibe® reduces the anxiety and the pain associated with dental injections and Smile Source is proud to now offer this innovative system to all their patients across the U.S.
"Patient comfort is at the heart of our dental practices," said Dr. Andy Goldsmith, Chief Dental Officer at Smile Source. "Our initiative to be a virtually PAIN FREE organization will help people who have feared having dental work done in the past, to overcome their fear and protect their teeth. DentalVibe® works for everyone, but is particularly effective for children, people with disabilities such as autism, and children with anxiety about getting a needle," said Dr. Goldsmith.
The DentalVibe® works on the principles of "The Gate Control Theory of Pain," co-developed by Canadian psychologist Dr. Ronald Melzack, a professor emeritus at McGill University in Montreal. The theory states that when pain and vibrations are occurring simultaneously, vibrations reach the sensory area of the brain faster than the pain does, closing the body's neural "pain gate" so that pain can't pass through.
"When the DentalVibe® is used simultaneously during the administration of an injection, the pulsed vibratory impulses generated by the device travel through nerve fibers to the brain at a rate 30 times faster than the sensation of the pain from the injection. Therefore, the patient essentially does not feel the injection," said Dr. Steven G. Goldberg, DDS, FADFE, Inventor of the DentalVibe®.
