SMT Energy Energizes First Standalone Battery Energy Storage Project in the City of Dallas

DALLAS, July 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- SMT Energy has energized SMT Dallas, a 10 MW / 15 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS), making it the first BESS project brought online within the City of Dallas. Located in Oncor Electric Delivery Company territory, the project marks a major milestone in the growth of urban energy storage infrastructure across ERCOT.

Constructed by Irby Construction under a full-wrap EPC contract and supported by FlexGen's integrated solutions and energy management system, SMT Dallas demonstrates the power of deep coordination between partners. SMT selected FlexGen to provide the full equipment and controls package, including battery enclosures, power conversion systems, and their HybridOS energy management software to maximize performance and operations.
