'Snuggie Rap Kidz' Warms Hearts at the First-Ever Snuggie® Choice Film Awards

HAWTHORNE, N.Y., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- From the New York premiere to couches across America, the winning videos from the first-ever Snuggie® Choice Film Awards are ready for prime-time viewing.  The winners were announced today at the official premiere event in New York, hosted by comedian Christian Finnegan.  "Snuggie Rap Kidz," directed by Dorothy Benson of Leesburg, Virginia, took home the Film Awards' Grand Prize and $5,000, after receiving the highest number of fan votes of the six finalist videos.

"Teach YOU How to Snuggie" directed by Jesse Meeker of Oakland, California, and "Snuggie Stud" by Tara Deem of Dallas, Texas received second- and third-place honors and $2,500 each.  All finalists were the first to receive the full Snuggie® blanket Fall 2010 line.  Other finalists recognized at the event included:

• "Snuggie=Love" by Young Kim of Parker, Colorado
• "Do the Snuggie Dance" by Scott O'Lone of Mason, Ohio
• "Snuggie Chase" by Dustin McLean of Pasadena, California

The Film Awards were inspired by thousands of fan-created videos paying homage to the Snuggie® blanket-with-sleeves phenomenon.  Finalists' videos drew nearly 5,000 votes collectively.
