Social Shopping iPhone App Launches for Black Friday

NEW YORK, Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Signpost, the community-powered deal site, today announced the availability of its mobile application for iPhone. The free Signpost app is a location-based tool that enables users to discover nearby shopping deals and share incredible finds with their friends and members of the Signpost social community. The app is an extension of Signpost.com, a member-driven deal site that launched earlier this year and is backed by Google Ventures and Spark Capital.

With Signpost, users can post the special deals they discover in their neighborhood, whether it's a steep clothing discount from a favorite boutique or a dinner special from a trendy local restaurant. Signpost taps into shoppers' impulses to share great deals they discover in their neighborhoods. By allowing the community to then vote and curate these deals, the community determines what matters most in their neighborhood. Currently, the app is optimized for users in Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco. Additional markets and an Android version of the Signpost app will launch shortly.
