Sococo Increases Funding and Senior Management Team
Firm raises $4 Million and Adds Former PRTM, Bear Stearns, and Yahoo! Executives
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sococo, the social communications company, announced closing a new investment of $4 million and three new additions to its management team. The new investment brings Sococo to a total of $10.9 million raised to date. The new senior managers are Chris Wheeler, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Steve Zogas, Vice President of Finance, and Bernard Chen, Director of Marketing.

About the New Managers
Chris Wheeler joins Sococo as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales where he will be responsible for growing top-line revenue. Wheeler has held a variety of general management and sales roles throughout Silicon Valley, including most recently Vice President of Sales for PRTM, a management consulting firm focused on operations and productivity improvements. Wheeler holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Steve Zogas joins Sococo as Vice President of Finance where he will oversee financial management and planning, reporting, and analysis. Previously, Zogas was Vice President of Finance and Operations for Rumblefish and Manager of Business Development at UTi Worldwide focusing on strategic growth and acquisitions. Zogas spent several years in the financial services industry in New York, most notably in the investment banking groups of Bear Stearns & Co. and Bank of America Securities. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Oregon.
Bernard Chen joins Sococo as Director of Marketing where he will be responsible for user acquisition and engagement, customer intelligence, and product marketing. Chen comes to Sococo most recently from Yahoo! Inc. where he held a number of senior manager position in product marketing and customer retention and development. He formerly was with General Electric in its GE Money division as Senior Client Marketing Manager and also worked in marketing at American Express in New York. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Corporate Strategy from the University of Michigan.
