Sococo® Launches Business Telephony Beta Program

SAN FRANCISCO and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Web 2.0 Expo -- Sococo, the social communications company, today announced at Web 2.0 Expo San Francisco (http://www.web2expo.com) Team Space Business Telephony: the public beta program for Team Space users to call other team members or guests through public switched telephone network (PSTN) phone numbers.  Sococo also announced plans to integrate Skype SILK audio codec for improved audio quality into Team Space. The Business Telephony beta program will commence in April 2011.

Business Telephony allows team members to call multiple people who are not online and include them in a meeting. A speakerphone icon will be in every conference room, and when a team member clicks on it, a dial pad for calling out will appear. The billing mechanism for calling out will be similar to other plans where users pre-pay in small increments for calls made to landline and mobile phones.

The recipient of the call is represented in the meeting with an avatar that shows when he or she speaks and enables other attendees to see that person as part of the meeting, though attending through a telephone rather than online.

Sococo is also integrating Skype SILK audio codec for improved audio quality in Team Space.
