Softengi Automated Insurance Process for PZU, the Largest Insurance Group in Central and Eastern Europe

Softengi, a software developer from Ukraine, a part of Intecracy Group international consortium and The 2014 Global Outsourcing 100 ranked company, automated and introduced a system of electronic life insurance process for PZU Insurance Group.

Softengi specialists have developed an automated electronic life insurance system, which minimizes the time and costs for insurance process, and by few times improves performance. The steps from filling out the questionnaire by the client till awarding him an insurance policy now take the least time. The risk calculation by set parameters is conducted automatically, 90% of processes are automated and the paper is almost not used. In addition to the automated system Softengi company has developed a calculator allowing the user to enter parameters (age, income, term of life insurance and other similar data) and instantly calculate the most convenient insurance premium (insurance cost).

Before the electronic system introduction the insurance agents and brokers completed questionnaires and statements in paper form. Then they were sent by post along with a package of documents from the customer to the central office in Kyiv, where they were checked, the decision taken, and documents were sent back. This whole process was taking too much time and costs for paper work and shipment. Softengi specialists automated complex and multi-step process of life insurance, whereby decision- insurance has become easier and more quickly.

The development and implementation of the system were conducted by Scrum flexible software development methodology, which suggests that the whole process is broken down into two-week stages (sprints). Fixed and short sprint duration allows development process predictability and flexibility. PZU managers at each stage of development and implementation had the opportunity to improve the system by taking part in quality control process and adjusting it according to their needs. Through this work system, the customer received an automated life insurance system, which fully complies with the requirements of modern fast and efficient work with the client.
