SoftServe Realizes Advanced Big Data Reporting by Embedding Jaspersoft

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jaspersoft, the world's most widely used business intelligence (BI) platform, today announced that SoftServe, Inc., a leading global provider of high quality software development, testing and technology consulting services, has embedded JasperReports Server to power Big Data reporting in a network security product for a global IT client.

With billions of records per day coming in from multiple intrusion prevention system devices, powerful, efficient reporting and analysis was a key consideration for developing the network security product. SoftServe evaluated different BI vendors, but only Jaspersoft met the specific performance, reporting and ease of integration and use requirements. 

SoftServe relied on Jaspersoft application programming interfaces (APIs) to enable easy access, implementation and customization, giving the development team the flexibility they needed when integrating JasperReports Server within the SoftServe development environment. As a result, SoftServe built their core resource model in just three weeks and completed their project in seven months, lowering development costs by an estimated 25 percent.

When compared to solutions SoftServe has used on custom-built reporting engines, Jaspersoft delivered 30 to 35 percent faster processing on average, and 100 percent higher performance in some cases. The dynamic reporting capabilities of JasperReports Server enable end users to access a web-based, self-service BI tool that provides both real-time and historical reporting to support rapid troubleshooting on infected computers or take proactive steps to prevent attacks in the future.  Additionally, the Jaspersoft BI backend allows users to choose from 35 pre-built reports to view in the dashboard, schedule to be emailed in the format they choose or customize as needed to evaluate network attacks in different ways such as by IPs, devices or geography.
