MADISON, Wis., April 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted market leader for lecture capture, enterprise and event webcasting, today announced the finalists for the company's eighth Rich Media Impact Awards, an annual recognition of excellence in the practical and creative integration of Mediasite in business, education, health and government.
Members of the Mediasite user community nominated organizations for their achievements in improving information accessibility, cost savings, efficiency and productivity through Mediasite. This year's finalists join more than 140 organizations from around the world that have been recognized since 2005.
"The finalists continue to impress us with their innovative uses of Mediasite. We created the RMIAs to highlight the successes of our customers who have truly used webcasting in exciting, creative and cost-saving ways," said Rob Lipps, executive vice president of Sonic Foundry. "It is rewarding for us as a company, and contributes greatly to the knowledge of our Mediasite user community, to get this behind the scenes, in their own words tour of how they use webcasting, and the results they've been able to achieve by live streaming online video and rich media webcasts."
Winners will be announced during a special ceremony at UNLEASH 2012, the Mediasite User Conference, taking place May 7-9. All RMIA finalists in attendance at UNLEASH 2012 will have the chance to win a Mediasite RL Recorder during a drawing at the conference.
