South Carolina Prepares for Coastal Protection Conference

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With hurricane season officially here and the devastating impacts of Sandy still fresh in mind, authorities from around the country will meet in Myrtle Beach this August for a highly focused symposium on protecting our citizens and coastal infrastructure from the potential damages associated with the rising tides.


Facing the Rising Tide: Coastal Protection Symposium will be co-located with StormCon, The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Conference. StormCon brings together the leading experts on storm- and surface-water quality to explore the newest water pollution prevention and mitigation technologies. The Coastal Protection Symposium covers 14 separate presentations and topics including Enhanced Community Resilience, Impact Assessment, Beach Stabilization, Storm Surge & Bridge Scour, Business Continuity Planning, Building Resilient Marinas, and Visualizing Sea level Rise & Flooding Impacts.
